Luis is a city architect with a strained relationship with his boss. A call from his sister, Clara, changes his life forever. A murder compels him to piece together memories of his rural childhood and his relationships with his parents and a mysterious woman who will shape his destiny. The film opens with a murder involving Luis; reconstructing his life—his childhood, his parents, and his sister—gradually reveals the story behind the killing. Luis works for Carbone, a wealthy construction company owner who mistreats him and places ever-increasing demands on him. His only sources of stability are his friend Francisco and his sister Clara.
